For the week of May 30-June 3

Hello!

Since my last blog post, the students have developed and begun presenting social projects looking at their family heritage and culture and the countries their ancestors were from. We've finished up the polishing work on their Camp NaNoWriMo stories and created the covers for those books (see the pictures below for a sneak peek!).

Some notes on our Learning this week:

Writing

  • Opinion Writing - making good judgements, the parts of a good argument/judgement

Reading

  • Collaborative Literacy Groups
  • Book Clubs

Math

  • Buckle down for the final push. Many students are working towards the advanced level skills and understandings from our grade 4 math program. Others are continuing to work towards mastering the foundational and intermediate level outcomes.

Science

  • Our new science unit is Plant Growth and Changes

Notes for next week:

  • Peer Relations presentations all week
  • UofL VR Development experience part 2 on Tuesday
  • Human Sexuality health lessons on Wednesday and Thursday

Thanks for reading!

Mr. V
