For the week of Jan 30-Feb 3

Hello!

These past couple weeks were a bit of a blur. We got to experience a Lion dance, and the students got to experience a bit of the traditions associated with the Lunar New Year. We've begun our new book clubs and have been practicing developing questions which push our group mates to present and support an opinion (rather than simply find a "fact" within the book). We recently finish our work on Comparing and Ordering numbers (look for the Mini-Boss battle to come home on Monday).

Some notes on our Learning this coming week:

Writing

• Word Study: "ph" at the beginning and end of words and The "F" Sound (different ways it is spelled)

Reading

• Class Read-Aloud
• Continue book clubs and guided reading groups

Math

• Number Groups Level 2 - Multiplying Larger Numbers

Social

• Alberta's History
