Week 7

Hello!

It was really good to be back this last week. We had some excellent learning as a staff over the Thanksgiving week, and I'm sure the students all enjoyed some time off, but it's always good to return to routine. This week we adjusted our schedule and did some in-depth learning about metacognition in math. We finished up our first Science unit, and we (finally) got started actually drafting our realistic fiction stories. We also had the first part of our introduction to the Makerspace.

We have a few exciting things happening next week. First up, we want to welcome our new student, Leah. On Monday, we will have our first visit from the education practicum student who will be with us for November and December!

• Narrative Writing: including setting details and writing powerful endings

Reading

• Begin word study

Math

• Most students are working on decimal place value

Social

• Begin our unit on Regions of Alberta
