For the week of Sept 26-30

Hello!

This week we really started digging into more of our curricular content. The students learned about the needs of plants, and studied the parts of complete sentences in more detail (Subjects and Predicates) and what happens when you are missing one of them. We had an "overview" visit in the Makerspace with Mr. Tyslau (lots of cool stuff in there). We also celebrated the Autumnal Equinox on Wednesday and had our Terry Fox Walk/Run this today!

Some notes on our Learning this week:

Writing

  • Finish up our Sentence Writing study by looking at Run-On sentences and ways to correct them

Reading

  • Check-ins with Mr. V to see how we are at choosing good fit books and continue working on reading stamina

Math

  • solidify routines and structures

Science/Social

  • Reading/Creating Maps

Notes for next week:

  • As National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is this Friday, we will be participating in the Division-wide Pathways for Reconciliation activity on Tuesday
  • Elder Sheldon Day Chief speaking on Wednesday (and Mr. V away for PL in the PM)
  • No school Friday

Thanks for reading!

Mr. V
